Ethics & AI
As computing and AI reshape society, they raise important questions about how these technologies are designed, deployed, and governed. The MIT Schwarzman College of Computing brings together perspectives from across disciplines to advance responsible innovation and help ensure that AI serves the public good.

Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing (SERC)
A cross-campus initiative of the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, SERC promotes understanding of the challenges and opportunities of new technologies, and how we can improve design, policy, and implementation.

AI for Society
The AI for Society Group brings together researchers from across MIT to examine the applications and implications of artificial intelligence in society. Its annual seminar series features distinguished scholars exploring AI’s impact on ethics, governance, human-computer interaction, and other societal issues. Co-sponsored by the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing and the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems, the series is open to students, faculty, and the public.
